"Who goes to Aglish for their holidays" is what a friend asked before we left.
Having been there my simple answer is "everyone should".
A home away from home in a setting that's nothing like home!
Prior to arriving I had been in touch with Erron on a number of occasions, she was great at responding and was accommodating of my changing circumstances. On arrival there was a friendly greeting, a turf fire (much needed given that we were arriving in "August in Ireland") and the most pleasant surprise of all . . .
the place looked better in real life than it did in the pictures.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean, something my wife was worried about as we were first time AirBnB'rs. You could eat your dinner off the bar (breakfast) counter - but we didn't try!
We were two adults and two teenagers and there was plenty of living and sleeping space for all.
Mobile phone coverage was poor (beyond a few "sweet spots") but this added to the charm of the place (it was truly a trip back in time where internet and email were forgotten about for a few days).
Evenings were spent playing games, something we stopped doing years ago but really had a blast here in Aglish. We did use the tv once, but were glad of the real break from all gadgets and the "social" world.
Thanks to Erron for making this a truly memorable break in a stunning house, in a charming country setting. We'll be back.

Rated their stay 5* on Airbnb.
** It is fair to say the mobile phone coverage in Conroy's can sometimes be poor, especially during bad weather. Also, our internet service has been upgraded since Don's stay at Conroy's Old Bar and is regularly commented on by guests as being better than what they have at home in any of the big Irish cities **
